Concerns are high after Papua New Guinea authorities sent police and immigration officials, armed with sticks and knives, to forcibly relocate men from the Lombrum detention on 23 November. Hundreds of refugees and asylum-seekers remain at further risk of violence from members of the local community and security forces.

The current situation on Manus Island amounts to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, a violation of the UN Convention against Torture.

Please contact the authorities immediately, urging them to ensure the safety and security of all refugees and asylum-seekers
